Artist Statement

I am a classically trained visual artist with over two decades of experience across a spectrum of creative disciplines, including drawing, painting, digital art, comics, animation, and commissioned portraiture. My artistic journey began at Langley Fine Arts School and evolved through a combination of formal education and self-driven exploration. As a self-taught prodigy, I’ve cultivated a practice rooted in curiosity, discipline, and a deep emotional connection to visual storytelling.

My early career in video game development honed my skills in classical, 3D animation, conceptual art and storyboarding. But it was through this path that I discovered my true passion: landscape and abstract painting with mixed mediums. Outside of painting, I’ve been commissioned for everything from pet portraits to abstract paintings, book covers, postcards—each a unique collaboration that speaks to my love of personalized, meaningful art. My work balances technical precision with expressive freedom, always aiming to resonate emotionally with viewers.

I also have a strong foundation in teaching, having led art instruction in both group and private settings. I find one-on-one mentorship especially rewarding, as it allows for deeper creative development and connection.
